House Staff Stipends

The stipend schedule for house staff for AY 2020-2021 is posted on gme.wustl.edu at the following link https://gme.wustl.edu/about/policies-procedures/stipends/

This has been approved by the GME Board and was slated to come to the GMEC for confirmation as per ACGME requirements at the March 2020 meeting. Due to COVID discussions then, it was not presented but will be on the agenda for approval at the May 29, 2020 GMEC.

Academic Medicine calls for letters to the editor from trainees about coronavirus experiences
Academic Medicine, a peer-reviewed journal of the AAMC, is seeking original submissions for letters to the editor from medical students, residents, and fellows on the topic of courage, connection, and COVID-19. Editors are seeking letters about how the crisis is contributing to positive transformation in health care and health professions education. The deadline for submissions is June 1.

Incorporating Active Learning into Large Group Sessions

This workshop will focus on ways to incorporate active learning strategies when teaching large group sessions. The workshop’s leaders will first present priniciples of adult learning and the “why” behind active learning. Multiple different strategies for active learning will be presented and incorporated into the workshop. In addition, audience members will have the opportunity to participate in some of the active learning strategies during the workshop. Workshop leaders will also present tips for success in the facilitation of active learning in large groups.
