Preparing for visiting WashU’s medical campus requires both a financial and time commitment. Visit requests must be made at least eight weeks in advance. If you have not completed all requirements before your start date, the request will be cancelled, and you will need to submit a new request for future dates.

Please follow the process below to submit a request to visit WashU’s Medical Campus.

  1. Resident/Fellow in a US training program
  2. Resident/Fellow in an International training program
  3. International Medical Graduate (not in a training program; could be a post-doc/researcher)

Review available timeframe

  1. No visitors are allowed to rotate or observe during blackout dates from March 1st – August 31st annually.
  2. If legal review is required, an additional minimum of 16 weeks must be provided.

Incoming Visitor Rotations Request Steps

  1. Visiting residents, fellows, medical graduates, or WashU post-doc/researchers will make contact with program leadership for rotation requests. Programs are not required to accept rotators, outside of pre-negotiated PLA rotations.
    • WashU Post-Doc/Researchers will be treated as incoming visitors.
  2. If the program you are interested in agrees to host you, they will submit a rotation application on your behalf and supporting documents if required.
  3. GME reviews applications, requests additional information as needed.
  4. After reviewing, GME will send a conditional approval email to WashU program.
  5. Following approval, the WashU program will contact you.
