The Program Director Bootcamp is a longitudinal, comprehensive, certificate course offered by the Graduate Medical Education office, in partnership with the Academy of Educators.

This program is open to new, aspiring, and experienced WashU Medicine residency and fellowship PDs from both accredited and non-ACGME accredited programs. Current WashU Medicine Associate Program Directors (APDs) are also encouraged to apply. This course aims to enhance GME knowledge, foster connections with other GME leaders, develop new skills, promote innovation, tackle common PD challenges, strengthen leadership capabilities, and focus on career and professional growth.

This course will include a total of 11 monthly sessions: 10 half-day sessions held on Wednesday afternoons from 1-4pm and one full-day session in the spring, from August 2026 through June 2027. Attendance of at least 80% of the sessions (nine sessions), is necessary to achieve the certificate. The tentative session dates are 8/19/2026, 9/9/2026, 10/21/2026, 11/11/26, 12/9/26, 1/13/2027, 2/17/2027, 3/10/2027, 4/7/2027, 5/19/2027 and 6/16/2027.

To apply, complete the application, commit to attending at least 80% of the sessions and provide a letter of support from their department chair or division chief to ensure support for this commitment.
